Supporting the choir

The City of Oxford Choir is a charity, and there are a number of ways you can support us to keep making music and contributing to the cultural life of Oxford.

Concerts

Join our audience

We love to perform to enthusiastic audiences, so the simplest way to support the choir is to come to our concerts!

Browse our upcoming concerts, and join our email list to get programme details and exclusive discount codes straight to your inbox.

We also post updates on our social media channels, so give us a follow to stay up to date.

Become a benefactor

Becoming a benefactor guarantees your place at all four of our concerts throughout the year. This benefits the choir by confirming audience numbers in advance, and provides us with added financial stability.

This means we can be more adventurous with our programming, for example hiring more unusual and expensive scores. We can also pay for additional soloists and musicians which increases the choice of repertoire and diversity of sound we can create.

It costs £60 to become a benefactor (£50 concessions, £20 students). In return, you will receive:

  • Free ticket to all Oxford concerts

  • Complimentary programme

  • An acknowledgement in every programme

If you are interesting in supporting the choir by becoming a benefactor, please contact the choir secretary to sign up.

Thank you for supporting our music making!

Fundraising

We are a registered charity and our membership fees and ticket revenue cover the costs of running the choir. However we are always keen to explore exciting opportunities like collaborating with professional groups, performing in venues outside of Oxford and conducting music outreach. Fundraising makes it easier for us to realise these possibilities.

An easy way to boost our fundraising efforts is to shop using Easyfundraising. Simply visit easyfundraising.co.uk then follow the links to your favourite brands: John Lewis, Booking.com, Tesco to name just a few. If you make a purchase then the website donates a small percentage to the choir, at no extra cost to you.

There are over 8,000 shops available and so far we have raised over £2,900 this way, so those extra clicks really do make a difference!
