We'll be singing works by Dove, Chilcott, Quartel, Young and Shaw plus Christmas favourites with a new twist.

Oxford Town Hall

The City of Oxford Choir came into being in 1977 to celebrate Oxford’s twinning with Leiden in The Netherlands. On 8 July 2023 we will be joined by the Leiden English Choir for a special concert in the magnificent surroundings of the Town Hall. In the spirit of twinning and co-operation we celebrate the world, our brief custodianship of it, and the gift of it we make to our children.

Our summer concert in the beautiful chapel of Keble College presents a sequence of choral masterworks from different eras and traditions. From Britten's extraordinary Rejoice in the Lamb, through Kodaly's evocative Matra Pictures, and Cecilia McDowell's serene I know that my Redeemer liveth, to Bach's joyous motet Lobet den Herrn, we explore what makes a masterpiece. Join us, and renowned organist Greg Morris, for this musical tour de force!

We were delighted to perform a short concert at the church of St Mary & St John in Cowley on Saturday 3rd July. Many thanks to everyone who pulled together to make this happen.
